The Metropolitan Museum of Art responce and Final Project
The metropolitan museum of art holds art works from around the world, so I needed a theme that complements this unique quality. So I thought of something and I came up with a person. Indiana Jones he has been around the world and back, and has most likely seen most of these art works at some point. Keeping in mind that he is only a fictional character. My theme is “What if I were Indiana Jones”. I thought of this theme to complement the museum and my vivid imagination. My theme became true as I went on my “adventure” to find art.
I imagined I was in a dark brown jacket, brown shirt, a round adventure hat and a whip and I walked myself to “Egyptian Art” section where I found the “the statue of the goddess Sackhmet” from the 18th dynasty of Amenhotep the 3rd. When I saw this I thought she is going to come alive and try and kill me for entering her tomb. When this came to mind she did come alive and try to kill me so I ran away from the “Egyptian art” and trying to flee from the goddess I ended up in the second section called the “Greek and Roman Art” there I ran into a room and in the room was the work of art the “Marble statue of a lion” Greek, Cycladic.

The same scenario repeated itself like the Egyptian goddess that I walked up to some forbidden Greek temple and it came alive and again try and kill me. At this point I feel as though I have a short life expectancy with everything trying to kill me. As I am running to my air plane and finally flew to another section my air plane experienced some “engine” problems and crashed in the “Art of the Arab Lands, Turkey, Iran, Central Asia, and Later south Asia” there I got out of my aircraft and I walked to a nearby temple to see what I can see. I walked in and no one was there but this strange animal like figure, as my luck would have it once again it came alive it was as dog not just any dog a special one it was “ Incense Burner of Amir Saif al-Din Muhammad al-Mawardi” this “green dog” played with me and I was nice enough to take him home with me until my adventure goes on.

“Chelsea Galleries Reaction”
I have a hobby where I collect cars when I mean cars I mean 1:18 scale model cars. They range from GT ( Grand Touring) cars like the BMW M6, to super cars like the Lamborghini Gallardo and the Ferrari 360 ( this is my favorite Ferrari due to its engine note that sounds like an F1 car) I also have regular cars you see everyday like the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution, and even a Mercedes-Benz DTM race car. They all differ in size shape and color but they all have one thing in common they have a small place in my heart. But the best of all of these cars are the two I call Loki and Loki Jr. Unlike my model cars they are real cars I drive and work on every day. Loki is a 1997 Mazda Protégé and Loki Jr. is a 2008 Nissan Pathfinder. So when I was assigned this role as an art collector, I applied my own personality and the same eye that I use to pick and choose my model cars. While on the topic of cars the first work of art I would like to collect is this collage by Blazon. It caught my eye because there was a little yellow car in the middle but from a distance I was not sure what it was until I got closer and saw it was a Lotus Elise. Around it were several pictures of rims, and gold chains. The frame itself reminded me of my brother Ryan who like expensive things, because it had a Louis Vinton print and what looks fur. I would like to collect due to its connection with cars and its loud “LOOK AT ME” appeal, though I am not the one to draw unnecessary attention to myself. I would keep it around my home just to add a little “bling” to the space it is placed on. The art work I would not like to collect is Erica Magrey and her huge work with this free standing steel, as much as this is a beautiful work of art I don’t want it to fall on my head and squash me like a bug. I don’t like something that may kill me in ten minutes or even ten years.

“Illustrate a Story”
The reason why I picked this story from the website, was my family was struggling with something simmalar to this. It was hard for my family to face this problem like the daughter in the story, so I can relate to her pain and her sadness. But unlike her mother my family choose not to pick this route, we chose to take care of this member of our family ourselves. That is the reason why I chose this story.

“Brooklyn Museum Reaction”
The Brooklyn museum is a place I have not known it existed. Until I saw it for the first time during Kiddies Carnival, which was held in the same area at the time I did not think much of it until I went back and seen the museum. Being in the museum was a pleasant experience though we ended up doing the trip from the top to the bottom. It started with the odd works by “Sanford Biggers” and his art work called “Lotus” where Biggers has turned a slave ship into something that looks like a dream catcher. To the slaves who were unfortunate enough to be trapped in one of these ships it all maybe a bad dream, but to me I commend Sanford Biggers for turning a sad history into a wonderful art work. Much like the name of the section “Sanford Biggers: Sweet Funk-An Introspective”, this goes very well with the section and much like the artist who I believe is nuttier than a bag of nuts I think it perfect.
The next section I saw was the “Youth and Beauty: Art of the American Twenties”, this was a bit strange to me the name to me seems like mostly modern things but I was sadly mistaken. Though I did manage to find something that caught my eye this strange statue by Harriet Whitney Fishmuth called “Slavonic dance” it reminded me of something in the Olympic Games of old, when it was done in the nude by the Greeks long ago. Also the dance that he looked like he was going reminded me of something my eight year old brother does in his dance class. The last exhibit was “The Latino List” was confusing at first because it was just a place filled with people who happened to be Latino, and then it hit me they are all much achieved people in their own right. So I walked around the room and stumbled on this Latino man named Jose Moreno Hernandez, the reason I stopped was he was astronaut. I did not know there was a Latino astronaut so that is good to know; also someone very close to my heart inspires to be an astronaut.
Lastly the surprise that we saw was “The Dinner Party” by Judy Chicago it was very interesting to see this exhibit for a few reasons the first is the shape of the table, it was in the shape of a triangle normally for a large dinner party it is in the shape of a large circle or a rectangle. The second thing is each person had their own place in the table and they were all unique. It must have taken years to complete and it is very striking.

“Narrative Digital Collage” paragraph
This digital collage was inspired by the old episodes of South Park, when the outlines of the charters would show. The other inspiration is a continuation of my art food project was jaws take his revenge on me for eating him. Lastly I am fishing for once again for shark and then I am eaten by jaws, I am accompanied by Sponge Bob Square Pants, Captain Jack Sparrow , and Black Beard.
